Charity Cycle Ride for Travelling Light 2024

Local business Vanguard Self Storage are organising a charity cycle ride on Sunday 29 September, 50 miles and beyond part 4, to raise funds for two local charities close to their hearts, Travelling Light and Brandon Trust, for the fourth consecutive year.

They are hoping to raise £1000 for Brandon Trust and Travelling Light.

You can find out more and donate to their campaign here.

Money raised will go towards running costs for our Louder Than Words group for disabled children and young people with additional needs.

Lucky and Paul from Vanguard said:

"We have teamed up with Travelling Light and Brandon Trust for a fourth successive year! This year we're going to the beach. Vanguard Bristol to Shepton Mallet, Burnham-on-Sea, Weston Super Mare, Clevedon, Portishead and back to Vanguard - 100 miles.

The main reason for this charity ride is because I have family members that have Autism. My colleague Paul, who is also doing the charity ride, is an uncle to 4 in his family who have autism.

Local charity Travelling Light Theatre Company run a youth theatre group that provides a vital space for connection and creativity for young people with disabilities.

Each week disabled young people enjoy sessions packed with play and imagination. They express themselves, have fun, make friends and learn new skills in drama, music and storytelling in a supported and friendly environment.

We want to show our appreciation for the valuable work they do with these young people and help to make a difference by supporting them with this charity ride. The money raised through this campaign will help them continue to provide creative opportunities for children and young people in the local community."
