Support creativity, imagination and fun for disabled young people
Thanks to your support we raised £1,807 + gift aid in summer 2021 to support our ActionSpeak and Louder Than Words groups, which provide a vital space for connection and creativity.
Each week 30 disabled young people enjoy sessions packed with play and imagination. They express themselves, have fun, make friends and learn new skills in drama, music and storytelling in a supported and friendly environment.
The past 18 months have been particularly difficult for young disabled people, with Covid-19 creating increased isolation and anxiety for many. That is why we have run weekly drama sessions online throughout the pandemic. The groups have provided a regular space for creative adventures at home, supporting friendships, connection and wellbeing.

Young people have told us how important the groups are to them:
“I feel like I can get a lot out of my head, that’s just been there for weeks and months. It’s nice and relaxing. It just gets a lot of things off my chest.”
“It’s a unique opportunity to express yourself in various ways.”
