Online resources and activities

Making creative connections with our participants

We are currently engaging and sharing creative content online with participants from our Youth Theatre, Louder Than Words and ActionSpeak groups. We want to ensure we are reaching those who continue to be most hit by isolation and the impact of social distancing.

We are also offering our youth theatre participants the opportunity to complete both Discover and Bronze Arts Award online, with support from one of Travelling Light's Arts Award advisors.

If you are not currently in Travelling Light's Youth Theatre but would like to take part in some of our online sessions or masterclasses, you can still sign up (capacity depending). Find out more about the online sessions we are running for 7-10's Youth Theatre and the online masterclasses for 11-19's here.

Although many of our Youth Theatre resources are specially made for our existing participants, on this page we share content that we are able to make more widely available.

Staying safe online - resources for young people and parents

The following links provide really useful advice for both young people and parents to help stay safe online:

Three Kings - activity packs

"Have you ever seen such a night as this?  so many stars, so many stories, which one is yours?"

Our moving storytelling tale, Three Kings, for ages 5+ toured to schools, community venues and professional venues in Autumn 2018.

These activity packs contain ideas for activities based around Three Kings, but can certainly be enjoyed without having seen the production. The activites are aimed at those for aged 5-11 years old but can be adapted.

We would love to hear from you if you have any photos, videos or examples you would like to share with us.

Three Kings - Behind the Scenes Films

How the devising process works and what the different roles are inside a rehearsal room?

Our behind the scenes films will help answer all these questions and more. You can watch the full playlist on our YouTube playlist here, or watch a selection of them below:

Three Kings: Designing the World

Katie Sykes, our designer for Three Kings explains how theatre designers work with the actors and creative team to create the world of the play.
