Our 14-19s group enchant audiences at Blaise Castle House Museum
On Saturday 14th May our 14-19s at Museum's At Night Event: 'The Enchanted Gardens', which took place at Blaise Castle House Museum. After a quick run through in an open field, the group emerged into an open air amphitheatre to perform their piece 'The Wandering Pen'. We didn't expect to see so many people; including a sturdy front row of children eager to see what we had in store. We have been looking at folktales over the last two terms of youth theatre, to link with our touring production of INTO THE WEST. The 14-19s were exploring ideas behind the story of 'The Devils Footprints' from Dartmoor, and performed a piece inspired by this tale.
We were so proud of the way the group threw themselves into the performance and adapted to the outdoor space. It reminded us of the way a touring company has to adjust to different settings and audiences.
Big thanks to Museums at Night: The Enchanted Gardens for giving us this opportunity!
We have spaces in our 14-19s Youth Theatre group, and if this is something you or a young person you know would benefit from - get in touch!
